Fiona Howard is a British designer, known for creating such contemporary classics as Sanderson’s ‘Dandelion Clocks’. For the past 30 years she has built her reputation in home furnishing textile design, working closely with her clients worldwide.
In a fast-paced industry Fiona keeps a close eye on the relevant trends, designing into each season’s themes with her own unique handwriting.
She creates delicious and unique commercial collections using traditional skills such as lino cut, monoprint and watercolour. Everything about her work is carefully considered, the papers meticulously coloured to exquisite palettes, and each design hand drawn in repeat from preparatory sketches before being carefully painted or cut into lino and printed by hand.
Fiona’s dedication to her craftsmanship is the hallmark embedded in her designs. She has refined her skill of repeating pattern, particularly in lino printing, over 30 years of dedication to the love of her work.
Sustainability and our focus on the planet
Sustainability has always been a natural part of Fiona Howard’s design philosophy. Inspired by the beauty of the British landscape and a love of craftsmanship, we believe that creating something beautiful should never come at the cost of the environment. Each wallpaper begins as a hand-painted design in Fiona’s Sussex studio, before being printed in the UK by skilled printers who share our commitment to responsible production. We use sustainably sourced paper from certified forests and print exclusively with water-based inks that are free from harmful chemicals. Our wallpapers are designed to last — timeless patterns made to be treasured, not replaced. By keeping our production local and our processes transparent, we aim to tread lightly on the planet while celebrating the artistry and integrity of British design.
